Springvale Farm Walk

This self guided tour brings you through up to 10 farms and allows you to experience a variety of Maine Agriculture.  Featured farms raise sheep, Christmas trees, mushrooms, vegetables and apples along with making cheese, hard cider and maple syrup!  The event will be held rain or shine

General Information
The walk is free to attend, although donations will be accepted

Parking Options:
- Mousam Valley Mushrooms, 21-B Blanchard Road
- Rivard Farm, 110 Blanchard Road
(Drop a vehicle at Rivard Farm or Mousam Valley, catch a shuttle back to the start at McDougal's, and walk toward your car: 4.5 miles)
- McDougal Orchards, 201 Hanson Ridge Road
(Park at McDougal's, walk to Blueberry Bend, and then walk back the way you came to return to your vehicle: 9 miles)

Other:
Shuttle service is available and made possible by your generous donation. It is recommended that your group be prepared to wait at shuttle stops or plan ahead by dropping a car off in advance at Rivard Farm or Mousam Valley Mushrooms.

Bring a backpack, as each farm along the way sells their produce, meats, dairy, and/or prepared food. Lamb BBQ will be available for lunch purchases at Noon Family Sheep Farm from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

The Springvale Farm Walk is a one-day-only event - most of the Farm Walk traverses private property that is NOT available for recreation except for on this one day. Enjoy the walk, respect landowners, and pick up a Sanford Trails map at McDougal's to find out where you can walk, bike, or ride in the future!

This event is held rain or shine - pack accordingly!

7 a.m; Mountain bike ride ending at McDougal Orchards for breakfast. Meet at Fast & Happy Bicycles, 463 Main Street, Springvale
8:00 to 9:30 a.m; Breakfast is served by Three Rivers Land Trust. Price is $8, children under 5 are free.
9 a.m; Guided bird walk with Will Broussard, outreach coordinator at Mount Washington Observatory. Meet at McDougal Orchards.
11 a.m; Agricultural history of Springvale. Meet Hazen Carpenter and learn about dairy, Christmas tree farming and more. Corner of Blanchard Road and Hanson Ridge Road.
